Learning Across Continents: Dutch Boosting Group and Ediom

Mutual respect and a genuine commitment to learning from one another. These are the core values at the heart of Dutch Boosting Group (DBG)—values that are shared quite literally on the other side of the world. Having been active in Australia for several years, we see this spirit reflected daily in our collaboration with Ediom, a leading Australian consultancy based in Melbourne and Sydney. Together, we are seizing opportunities to exchange knowledge across continents and grow as partners.

A Natural Synergy

Ediom has built a formidable reputation in Australia for excellence in Engineering Management. As the firm defines it: “Ediom creates added value in engineering and design management through expertise and experience, significantly improving project outcomes. Ediom believes that engineering management is a unique, well-defined skill where the right people and systems work together to ensure project success.” Their Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance (SESA) solutions consistently provide a pragmatic, tailored balance between regulatory compliance and tangible value.

At Dutch Boosting Group, we recognize ourselves in both Ediom’s systemic approach and their mission to add value to the built environment.

"In the Netherlands, DBG has spent years working on large, complex infrastructure projects, applying systems thinking and a broad perspective on Systems Engineering," says Maurits. "We don’t view SE as just a technical tool, but as a mindset and methodology that permeates an entire project organization. Ediom shares this vision. The beauty of this partnership is how much we can learn from each other; while the vision is the same, the contexts differ. We are navigating different clients, regulations, and corporate cultures. There is genuine room for mutual growth, which is exactly the kind of partnership we seek."

Where it Began

The collaboration first took a concrete form when Ediom engaged Maurits to support their work for Martinus Rail on the Albury to Parkes (A2P) project. A2P is a vital link in Australia’s Inland Rail program—one of the country’s most significant freight rail initiatives. The project covers 355 kilometers of existing track in New South Wales, spanning from the Victoria border at Albury to Parkes. Work includes track upgrades, bridge modifications, track lowering, signal gantry replacements, and level crossing improvements—all designed to safely accommodate 1,800-meter double-stacked freight trains.

Maurits supports Ediom on this project by contributing to the Change Control Board (CCB) process. This ensures that all changes to the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) network are assessed, approved, and implemented in a traceable and controlled manner. "This process represents formal stakeholder approval for specific changes," Maurits explains. "We look closely at technical risks, safety implications, and operational readiness."

Looking Ahead

This partnership marks a significant milestone for Dutch Boosting Group in Australia. We are proud to work alongside a team like Ediom—an organization that shares our belief in goal-oriented, technically sound management and our openness to collaborative growth. "We have found an excellent partner in Ediom," says Maurits. "Moving forward, we hope to take on more projects together as this partnership continues to crystallize. We are incredibly excited about a successful future alongside the Ediom team."
