C-pier Schiphol

Schiphol

From process to performance. Creating public value at 30,000 feet.

Schiphol is on the move. As an international hub, the airport is not just aiming to grow — but to grow smarter, with care for passengers, technical excellence, and the world around us. The redevelopment of the C-pier is a clear reflection of that ambition. As one of Schiphol’s three main terminals, the C-pier is being expanded and optimised to accommodate a growing number of intercontinental passengers, efficiently and comfortably.

With more gates, improved flow, and smarter integration between terminals, Schiphol is working towards a passenger experience that feels seamless, even during peak times. And it’s not just about space,  it’s also about atmosphere: added seating, shops, and dining options help ensure the journey starts (or ends) pleasantly.

And like its passengers, the project looks ahead. Sustainability is a key driver, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and clean technology. Together, these changes form part of Schiphol’s broader strategy to remain a future-proof airport,  balancing accessibility, livability, and performance.

Our contribution: From requirement specification to a flying start

At Dutch Boosting Group, we believe that you can only build something that truly works if you start by asking the right questions. For the redevelopment of the C-pier, we supported Schiphol in drafting the Process Requirement Specification (VSP) for the preliminary design phase, laying the foundation for a clear and purposeful market tender.

We integrated existing frameworks and documentation, including the ILS, DNR, and GWW standards, and structured the process requirements into a coherent and practical whole. This gave designers, consultants, and contractors clarity, not just on what’s needed, but on why it matters.

Through the Value-Driven Delivery programme, we also supported Schiphol’s technical experts in formulating solid base specifications. We ensured that project feedback was meaningfully incorporated into those specifications, turning abstract requirements into actionable foundations. This wasn’t just a paper process, but a real conversation between principles and practice.

In doing so, we help ensure that a project like C-pier not only performs technically, but also delivers real public value.

Structure as the runway. Public value as the destination.
